Wake up your day on the water

Out on the lake

It was a very sociable start time for our wakeboarding party day.  11am in Silom we were picked up in a very comfortable van to be taken up the expressway and out of town.  Slowly Bangkok melted away and we were seeing more and more countryside.  The soul feels better and you can’t wait to suck in lungs full of that clean, non-BKK, air (though some of our party were seen to head to the carpark for a quick fix of exhaust fumes!).

In under an hour we were standing at on the edge of a beautiful man-made lake up near Pathum Thani ready to start our afternoon of fun in the sun.  On offer were wakeboarding, waterskiing, wakesurfing, wakeskating, trick skiing, barefooting (NOT for the faint of heart!), kayaking, swimming, football, kites and just lounging about enjoying the wonderful BBQ food.

TE Wake and Ski park has a variety of boats on the lake for different sports.  With all the gear provided we were taken through a quick safety briefing then divided into 2 groups with one group heading out onto the lake for the wake boarding and another group staying on land for more sedate pursuits.  Whilst we wait our turn on the water we did a little kayakking, swimming and sitting about watching the other group whilst enjoying good company and great food.  The BBQ was awesome with plenty of options for all tastes.

Pickaboo took a lot of video of the day and will be offering drone videos of the day for future outings.  That would make a seriously cool souvenir.  Even the kids could have a go and the instructors made sure everything was right for them too.

This day out would suit everybody looking for something a little different to their average mall hang-out week-end or public holiday.  In the end we got back to Silom just before 6pm, headed out for some dinner then back to ours to deep sleep for everybody.  An awesome day out and something we would happily do again as a family.  Thanks Pickaboo!
